Simona Martini always knew she had to be in front of an audience.

You will discover this striking, creative actress as the lead role in the films Toxic Love and The Drexis which will be released later this year or the beginning of 2024.

A creative at heart, Simona’s professional journey saw her performing internationally as a ballerina, as well as rocking out on huge stages as the lead singer of industrial pop band Maleficent before discovering her one true passion, what everything in her life had been building up to – a career as an actress.

Born and raised in Rome, Simona moved to London at the young age of 15 to join the Royal Ballet School and to follow her passion for performing within the arts. As a classically trained ballet dancer, Simona is a natural at expressing herself with movement. But she soon realised this was not enough, and she turned towards music. As the lead singer of Maleficent, Simona developed her ability to express herself vocally and perform in front of large crowds. The London-based band performed at huge venues, and Maleficent also released several captivating conceptual music videos in which Simona got to showcase her creative self-expression through the mediums of song, dance, and acting at once.

Simona’s training as a ballet dancer gave her structure and discipline, and her music career gave her the confidence and guts to be fearless in front of the camera. After turning her focus on acting, Simona has worked towards developing her craft. Working as an extra on the critically acclaimed TV drama Fortitude, Simona was inspired by the director and cast and found her new purpose. Acting lit a fire in her, and she was featured in the big-budget drama after being noticed by the director of Fortitude.

Simona is now a trained method actress with multiple projects under her belt within both TV, short films, and feature films. Given her creativity and background in dance and body movement, Simona’s aesthetic is well-suited to alternative or quirky projects. Dark, supernatural, Tim Burton-esque projects would give her artistic side a chance to shine and showcase her fantastic control of body and motion as well as her acting chops. 

A true triple threat, Simona is a natural performer, with a solid understanding of body movement and a theatrical background. Simona has several film projects to be released within the next year. She is represented by AMCA London and is available for auditions.
